Size Me Up Ltd. was started by two friends in Edinburgh, UK.
The story starts in a common flat somewhere in the city where the two founders Svilen Valentine and Yanko Slavov were having a chat about how much cheaper and less time-consuming is to buy suits online, but how hard it is in fact to get the size that fits you.
This made them wonder if other people were having the same issue and found that industry average for returned clothing from online shopping is about 30% with sizing being one of the main drivers. The two friends thought certainly there must be someone who has solved this issue, so they did some more research of possible solutions, but to their delight, no company had yet solved this problem and the need was apparent.
The challenge was set and Size Me Up was born.
A couple of months later a third founding director joined the team. Stoyan Nikolov joined the team as a CTO and led the software development. Within a four month timespan and some support from Scottish Enterprise, we developed a minimum viable product (MVP), which was able to provide accurate clothing measures in exchange for a front-facing image of the user.
